Styled by Tribe Dubai

This Hacker kitchen in Hattan, Arabian Ranches is light, warm and inviting, with muted cashmere tones creating a calm and stylish living area. It's the family home of Jo England, owner of Tribe Dubai, and the perfect canvas to infuse with the inimitable Tribe style.

Tribe Dubai works from their studio in Al Quoz and has been bringing sustainable home wares to Dubai since it opened in 2015. Tribe's style is a bohemian vintage mix and is based around a light fresh palate of organic natural tones and textures. As it lends itself to so many aesthetics, it works in perfect harmony with this Hacker kitchen.

With ample storage in the form of cashmere cabinets, the stainless steel handles add an industrial edge which contrasts with the muted colour scheme. The central island is perfect for entertaining and bespoke shelves and cabinetry were extended into the walls to allow for more stylish storage in keeping with the kitchen.

Miele appliances include a microwave and oven with warming drawer, a dishwasher and a built-in washing machine and dryer.

An original canvas painting from the Indonesian artist Ketut Nik hangs on the kitchen wall, adding his signature lush green colour palette into the space. His paintings are inspired by his home and daily village life, and Tribe Dubai work with him to commission unique collections.

Jo England comments: "Tribe represents my passion for handmade, organic and sustainable goods and it was so lovely to style my Hacker kitchen along with my amazing team of designers at Tribe. The kitchen is the heart of our home and such a beautiful and functional space. Curating the furniture, lighting, rugs, decor and home wares to sit alongside it was a real pleasure. We entertain a lot at home and the Hacker kitchen, particularly the island, is always the focal point."

It's official: according to the Houzz 2018 Kitchen Trends Report, white is our favourite colour when it comes to kitchens, with 43% choosing this classic style.

UAE consumers are also passionate about white - so what is it about this shade that makes it such a kitchen classic?

David McCreath from Hacker UAE explains: "White is clean, modern and bright and works well for a small or large space. It's clean and simple and can be accessorised and updated with bright pops of colour without overhauling the whole space. Appliances have also caught up with this trend - Miele's Brilliant White range has been designed specifically to match perfectly with Hacker's white lacquer cabinets. This means that the entire kitchen can gleam seamlessly."
