The Brief

This beautiful white kitchen is a beautiful bright modern family space. Originally completely enclosed, Hacker worked closely with the client to remove two walls and design a brand new space that totally transformed its look and feel.

The Location

Oceana, Palm Jumeirah

The Project

The Polar White gloss handless cabinets run flush to the lounge space to create a large open plan living, eating and entertaining area. They contrast beautifully with the Black Arden Blue Volcano work surfaces.

The cabinets incorporate manual roller shutters allowing the client to store small appliances and cook books tidily out of sight when not in use, as well as lending an industrial look. The insides of these cabinets are in striking Lava Grey to contrast with the exterior.

Hacker makes the world’s only tropicalized kitchen, specially sealed and treated with an anti-fungal layer during the manufacturing process, using a sealant that expands and stretches with temperature. This makes the cabinets less penetrable by moisture, therefore increasing durability. Given the humidity of this sea-facing property, this made Hacker an ideal choice for this client.

The central island has seating for four, with cabinets underneath to make best use of the space with ample storage. Cabinets incorporate a supermarket pantry pull out for practical and easy access and pan drawers which are a hugely popular storage solution.

Lighting plays a key part in this kitchen with LED’s under the cabinets and plinth lighting around the island which looks stunning as day turns to night.

Miele appliances include: a combination oven, dishwasher and a ceiling extractor to continue the kitchen’s stylish clean look.

Ter-Hurne Luxury Vinyl Tile flooring in Limed Oak was installed throughout the living space. Easy to look after and maintain, Ter-Hurne LVT is durable and hard-wearing and can cope with water spills and leakage easily, making it ideal for family kitchens and homes. It also stands up well to the humidity experienced in coastal locations such as this.

Senior designer David McCreath comments: “We knew from the outset that we could create something really stunning if we removed the internal walls, and we worked with the client to make sure that they had a practical and stunning room. The resulting kitchen is light, clean and airy and the perfect family space.”
