VILLA, PALM JUMEIRAH, DUBAI 204442

The Brief

The brief was simple: a light, bright kitchen that can be used by the whole family – who all have a passion for cooking and spending time together!

The Location

Palm Jumeirah

The Project

With its striking modern look and botanical theme, this stunning Hacker kitchen would not be out of place on a Malibu beach front. It’s actually in a villa on the iconic Palm Jumeirah.

An internal wall was removed to make a large open plan area leading straight into the garden – perfect for family living and entertaining. The central peninsula has seating for six with Softline bar stools, so that the whole family can enjoy the space.

The white high gloss lacquered cabinets in the main kitchen are handless for a sleek look, working perfectly with the Volcano Arden Blue Silestone peninsula and a small splash of wood in the form of open shelving in Tera Oak adds a natural element to contrast with the white.

Lighting is a key feature of the kitchen, with stunning Bocci pendant lights drawing the eye in over the peninsula. All drawers have interior LED lighting and when combined with the plinth lights create a great mood effect.

Electric climber cabinets give a wow factor of movement and are also a practical solution for storing small appliances neatly out of sight.

Miele appliances were a must for these passionate cooks and include four domino induction hobs, a tepanyaki plate and induction wok and hob. A two plate gas hob gives the option to switch between heat sources as required and double ceiling mounted Miele extractor units cover the peninsular. A built in Miele Nespresso coffee machine and side by side combination and steam oven complete the look.

Ter-Hurne Luxury Vinyl Tile flooring in Dark Oak was installed throughout the living space. Easy to look after and maintain, Ter-Hurne LVT is durable and hard-wearing and can cope with water spills and leakage easily, making it ideal for family kitchens and homes.

Finally, the wallpaper was suggested and sourced by Hacker, and is a fabulous modern twist on a floral – injecting the same organic feel but with a more masculine and graphic style.
Overall a super sophisticated yet relaxed family kitchen, palm island style.

"Words simply do not describe how delighted we are with the results."

“We wanted more than just a kitchen, we wanted a new family space for our family to spend time in. We felt confident that Hacker was the right choice for us, because they listened and provided incredible input, and educated us so much in the process about the design, and style.

The Hacker Kitchen has certainly lived up to the hype and expectations of the brand. It was like test driving a brand new car. I have spent time cooking with the children in the kitchen already feeling more inspired with the space and the light. Cooking has become more of a joy again.

We have used the steam oven and the regular oven by Miele together, and we have cooked teppanyaki meals inspired by our trip to Japan, and fried Japanese fried rice using the induction wok. For moments when gas is easier, that is an option in the kitchen too.

As dramatic as it sounds, our Hacker family kitchen has certainly transformed the space in our house and it has also changed our lifestyle as a family to be able to do more together in the home.”
